We Built the Software We Wish Existed

Engage Spaces exists because ministries, denominations, and nonprofits deserve enterprise-grade software — without the enterprise price tag, and lack of implementation or support.
We're not a generic engagement platform with a "faith-based" label slapped on. We're a team that lives this world ourselves — and we built the tool we needed.

Why We Built Engage Spaces

Most organizations we talked to had the same story: a patchwork of disconnected tools — a spreadsheet here, a group chat there, an LMS nobody logged into, a check-in app that didn't talk to anything else. Leaders were spending more time reconciling systems than leading people. And worse, people were falling through the cracks — not because anyone stopped caring, but because no single system was tracking the whole picture.

We saw the real problem wasn't a missing feature. It was a missing connection — between the people on the ground doing the work and the administrators trying to support them from the head office. Every other platform built for this space was designed around a handful of executives managing everything from the top down. We wanted to build something different: one system where everyone — staff, volunteers, small group leaders, new members — could actually participate, and where every person engaged could go on to engage someone else.

That's still what makes Engage Spaces different today. We haven't found another platform built specifically to bring everyone into the operations lifecycle — not just to manage people, but to make them integral to the mission. Most of the tools built for ministries and nonprofits are outdated, clunky, or were never designed to scale past a single location. We built ours to do both: stay simple enough for a volunteer to use on day one, and scale to support an organization across hundreds of locations.

Our focus has never been "sell software and move on." It's helping the organizations we work with grow — and multiply — in a way that's healthy and sustainable, not just bigger.

Meet Our Founder

Headshot of Robin Wallar.

Robin Wallar

Robin started his first software company at 16. Years later, as one of the first engineers at Edsby, he helped build complex, scalable systems alongside some of the best engineers in the industry — and worked in a culture that, for the first time, made space for his other calling: ministry.

That combination — over two decades spent building software, and nearly two decades spent working alongside university students, churches, and campus ministries — is where Engage Spaces came from. Robin kept running into the same gap everywhere he looked: organizations doing incredible work with people, held back by software that wasn't built for them. So in 2021, he set out to close it — building a platform that could give any ministry, denomination, or nonprofit the same operational power a Fortune 500 company takes for granted.

Today, Robin leads Engage Spaces alongside a team who share that same conviction: that the people doing the work of ministry and nonprofit leadership deserve tools built with them in mind, not tools they have to bend themselves around.

I founded Engage Spaces to close two gaps I kept running into: organizations that lacked any real way to engage and integrate everyone they served, and mission-minded people who felt like they had to choose between their calling and their career. I wanted to build a company — and a product — where neither was true.

Engage Spaces is like a digital home base for our ministry. It helped us replace a clunky LMS and actually got our older leaders onboard too.
Engage Spaces delivers on their promises and is made for organizations with lots of structure, locations, access levels, and anomalies. It's well thought out and works well for organizations to deliver and track their programs — training, events, regular meetings — as well as enabling operational efficiencies and compliance, all in one place.

What We Believe

Everyone belongs in the system, not just the executives.

A platform is only as strong as the number of people actually using it — so we build for the volunteer and the new member, not just the admin dashboard.

Growth should be healthy, not just fast.

We measure success by whether an organization can scale without leaving people behind — that's multiplication, not just growth.

Enterprise software shouldn't require an enterprise budget.

Ministries and nonprofits deserve the same operational power as any well-funded company — without the price tag or the bloated implementation.

We build for people we know.

Every person on our team is actively engaged in a ministry or nonprofit themselves. This isn't a market we studied from the outside.
